Important fact: all yoga mats are not created equal.

There are countless types of yoga mats on the market, however when it comes to choosing one, it’s important to weigh the pros and cons of each, and make your evaluation based on your needs.

The variety that are thin, lightweight and perfect for the yogi-on-the-go may not provide the cushion needed for your limbs and joints if you topple over in class. Still, others are ideal for specific types of yoga while some focus on their materials friendliness to the environment. We’ve done the dirty, sweaty work for you and scouted some of the best yoga mats we’ve seen so far. Some of them are on here because of their quality, while others have an outstanding value. I have the Jade mat and love it so much! I do yoga 5 days a week. It is the best mat and I love the environmental aspect of the mat and company.

  • Suzanne Teague says:

I’m in love with my Manduka pro. I’ve had it for more than 4 years and have spent lots of hours on it. I am allergic to so many things and this is the only mat that did not break my hands out or break down from a LOT of use!

  • Gwen says:

My Manduka mat is close to 10 years old! I don’t know if it was a Pro, but for me it has performed like a pro. Mine is black, and it is thicker and heavier than other mats but I love it! I have hard toenails that ate other mats but my mat still looks great. It has been used hard but it shows little wear and tear. For outdoor yoga it gets too hot, so I have an alternative mat for outdoor yoga.
