Watch the video above for a welcome message from our host, Carol! (@yogiyue)
As you look over the poses for the challenge, you’ll notice some may have names might cause some fear in you, like “spider” or “lizard. But it’s not just the name of the pose that invokes a little “spookiness”, their purpose is to invite you to see what possibility is on the other side of fear, by acknowledging emotions from intense and vulnerable heart openers, hip openers and more.
And, it sure as heck doesn’t hurt that it’s all in the spirit of Halloween 😉
How to Join
Joining the challenge is easy, and you can start anytime between Oct. 17 & Oct. 31 to still qualify for the prizes! Above are the poses that we’ll post every day as guidance. Feel free to take any variation of the poses — take whatever you need to prevent injury. The last pose is a “Yogi’s Choice” pose, meaning, do whichever pose is “scary” for you — go outside your comfort zone! It can be a completely new pose or a repeat of a previous pose in the challenge.
Step 1: Repost the graphic above on your own Instagram page (can be Instastory or as a post on your page) and tag @yoga_lifestyles and use the #SpookyYogaPoses hashtag somewhere in your caption to let us know you’re joining. Follow and tag all the hosts (@yogiyie and Yoga_Lifestyles) and sponsors (@zurayoga, @vida_essentials and @jewelry.yoga), and be sure that your Instagram is set to public or we won’t know you’re participating!
Step 2: Follow all the hosts (@yogiyie and Yoga_Lifestyles) and sponsors (@zurayoga, @vida_essentials and @jewelry.yoga), and be sure that your Instagram is set to public or we won’t know you’re participating!
Step 3: Follow along by posting photos or videos of the poses. Do as many as you can but make sure you’re being safe and listening to your body!
When the challenge is over, we’ll pick three winners who will win great prizes from our sponsors!
Loved the mat featured in the challenge?
We feature the ZURA reversible nonslip travel mat (it weighs just 1.8 lbs!) It’s red on one side and black on the other, so it’s like having two yoga mats in one. Get it at an exclusive low price here on Amazon. Pssst, it makes a great gift as the holidays are approaching!
