Beginner Yoga Challenge: Half Pigeon Forward Bend

Benefits of the Half Pigeon Forward Bend: This pose helps treat urinary disorders and alleviate sciatica pain. It stimulates the organs in your chest, stomach and abdomen as well as stretches the hips and groin.

  • From Downward Facing Dog, move both feet together and move your right knee forward.
  • Let your entire left leg rest on the mat.
  • Bend your right leg across your body and let your body rest on top of it on the ground.
  • Extend your arms in front of you and hold.

Modifications: If this pose creates too much stress for your right knee, use a block under your hips. Only bend your knee as far as you are comfortable.
