Letter from the Editor: Daily Harvest at a Glance

Food box subscription services seem to be taking over my news feed and trending everywhere lately. And while it’s an interesting concept, not many have stood out in particular, and here’s why: I am both an adventurous eater but try to keep my diet as clean as possible. Many food box subscriptions fail to, well… deliver, since I have limited options to enjoy. This is not the case with Daily Harvest, and we were SO excited when we got the opportunity to review them.

From doing a bit of research, I gathered that the company was founded by Rachel Drori, a career-oriented-slash-superstar-mother based in New York. Already this struck a chord with me. While I don’t have any children, I rush through my mornings like a hurricane and find myself with zero time to cook. I am already a big fan of smoothies, but buying those wholesome, organic ingredients can get expensive and even preparing a smoothie in the morning can take me around 10-15 minutes (And, if we’re being honest, that’s already half my morning).

In comes Daily Harvest, the smoothie delivery subscription startup that’s rapidly taking over the internet and kitchens across the U.S. The concept consists of good-for-you ingredients that come pre portioned in smoothie cups. Simply pick your smoothie of choice from the freezer (and their website has a TON of options to choose from, so those who like to try new things, CELEBRATE!) add your liquid of choice such as almond milk, coconut water, or juice, blend and pour the contents into your cup. Each one has a cap equipped for a straw, so you can enjoy it on-the-go.

What made me love Daily Harvest even more was that they are expanding beyond smoothies. They now have hearty soups, overnight oats, chia parfaits and even sundaes to choose from. Now, I’m a big fan of food that pretends to be bad for you but is actually full of secretly great-for-you ingredients. You’ll see in the video I can hardly believe that the main ingredient in one of the sundaes was CAULIFLOWER. And it tasted like a cookie dough ice cream dream.

I won’t give away everything, but I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Daily Harvest. They even sent some bonus goodies in the box, which was a decadent touch. Watch the video, check them out and be sure to use code YogaLifestyles when you sign up to get three FREE smoothies!
